I've always admired Robert Frost for being able to create such functional poems out of traditional rhyme and meter structures. And it's always struck me as a great trick, how he can seduce the reader with his surface trappings.
Unfortunately, the Postwar Americans had neither the irony or depth to realize what he was actually on about.
