Aug. 29th, 2007 03:24 pmOne weird thing I've noticed lately is the rise of gambling over the past 5 years or so.
It used to be when you'd go into a bodega, or some place selling lottery tickets, mostly people would be there to buy stuff, and occasionally people would pick up a ticket. Maybe on days when the big drawings happened, there would be more.
Now, you can hardly go and buy anything at a place that sells lottery tickets, because there's gonna be a throng of gamblers. What's worse, is that I see people sitting there picking out numbers, boxing them, etc... as if it made a difference!
Maybe the worst thing that gambling does to you is make you superstitious about numbers/luck.
I mean, if you want to drop a couple of bucks on the theory that "there's no reason why I won't be the one to win", well, I can see that.
But any set of numbers is as likely as any other to come up.
Don't waste your precious life force and time trying to "figure it out"
