there's no accounting for taste they say
but very few actually live that way
but in a snivilization of switches,
a choice no matter what you say
there is a panoply of possible frontiers
and we choose some and call them truth
and then we ride that ego horse
till the saddle chafes us
afraid to get off
for fear that we'll be the one
stepped on next
the tarbaby is made of tar
if you remember that you can get out
the project is more important than its results

You're out there somewhere, everywhere

not rebellion, reform or revolution
this is an attempt to do something
and I'll never let it go away
entirely this:
let those who have ears listen
and those who have eyes see
and let them trace the symbols
on the ground so that they'll come to me

I intend to eat but still
there's no room at the inn
crowded to the corps
solid, opaque holes that don't radiate
but transmit the same codes
to each other,
smoothing their edges

So I stand outside, hoping to draw
a pull on a net, whose meshes are wide
but shaped just right
my edges not smoothed out
my core not damaged
waiting for the symbol
to be returned to me

no gravitational solution
the push becomes a pull
and the center regroups
"mere" anarchy is lost once more
but Nock knocked on the door
