my pronunciation

To me:
1. Mary has the vowel sound in Air, Fair or Bear
2. Marry has the vowel sound in Mat or Battle.
3. Merry has the e in Hell or Segment
4. The name Shari (as in Shari Lewis, the puppeteer) would rhyme with Harry and would have the same vowel sound as Sara.
5. Father rhymes with Bother and sounds different than Farther.
6. Boil and Bawl sound different.
7. Ball and Bawl sound the same, and have the same vowel sound as Old.
8. Doll and Ball don't rhyme.
9. What rhymes with Nut.
10. Caught (sounds like Cawt) rhymes with Bought but not with Cot/Hot/Not/Robot.
11. The first a in Pasta has the same vowel sound as Bother, not Lather.
12. Chance sounds like Chants, rhymes with Dance or Pants, same vowel sound as Dam or Ham.
13. Maude and Mod and Marred all sound different.
14. The R in Car is pronounced just like the R in Rocket.
