The Music of the Blood
Jan. 9th, 2007 07:53 pmI'm ill, and time is moving far too slowly for my taste... I can feel the nanites flooding and swarming within me, a home grown insurgency against the invaders. I'm hungry and tired, but also eyes wide open and full of manic, suppressed mental energy.
I have no foreign mercenaries to call into this battle, but I feel proud and confident of my native defenders, they've never let me down before.
I await the presence of other minds to trigger my thoughts and drive me onwards... to keep the airwaves alive while my body takes care of itself...

"they don't know they're dead"
Jan. 9th, 2007 08:18 pmthis has actually become my favorite of my self-created tracks, after many listens, so I'm posting the link again, not for everyone, and it certainly needs something, probably some synth wash harmonies, but the raw material has so much potential...
nullset9 - ubik (unfinished mix 2)
the rest of them are here:
the music of [0]/9
except Non, which I'll put a link up to when I put it some place.

Jan. 9th, 2007 09:12 pmUnlike their tribal cousins the pure, or Unreformed Geeks, the Acid Geeks are, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how it all turns out, actually aware that they are psychologically damaged geniuses with relatively little power. They remember and can place into context how they were ruined and how their intellectual power doesn't win over social manipulation skills, which were denied them so long ago...
And this is why they end up as some sort of rebel, revolutionary or rejector. They seek to return to or create an age where ideas meant something, regardless of their particular means of doing so.
They know that good ideas are not cheap or common, and in fact carry a price most would shudder to pay.
And in fact what redeems them, when they are redeemed, is an understanding that humanity at large pays a terrible price for choosing Charisma over Gnosis. The popularity contest has a dark underbelly stained with sweat and blood.
The man in Indonesia working in a factory 18 hours a day probably doesn't realize that he's there because it's the only way to keep the Show going on... and indeed, the Show must go on.

There's a certain sort of feeling I call the "eagle mother" in my mind... it is the over-whelming howl of joyous freedom and personal power, the sort of violently happy wail of something that can transcend all resistance... certain female singers embody this sensation... this is one of the few instrumental tracks that captures precisely that feeling in me, YMMV. (right around 4:30 to 6:00 or so)
It's the same feeling I got from the "invincible sword goddess" scene in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

Danger! Possibility of head explosion.
