Heaven and Hell.
Mar. 25th, 2008 02:39 pmAnd yet another piece falls into place.
To find the hearts desire is the most important thing, as we knew in the beginning and were lied and beaten ( literally and figuratively) and tortured into forgetting, so that others could make use of us for their own twisted desires.
Once this phase of the adventure is completed, the rest does indeed happen almost automatically. However, one must find it, which as an adult in our world, is no mean feat. It is itself Job One, a struggle against vast engines of memetic programming.
To call the adversarial forces "a conspiracy" is to both diminish and elevate them beyond the truth of the matter. Our enemy is ubiquitous, but so is our advocate, hiding, disguised, in tiny places. We must find that voice, that messenger and listen and let it strengthen our hearts for the journey.
It's one thing to achieve "greatness", it's quite another to follow one's bliss. They can look the same to the outside, but one path leads to an endless cycle of drudgery (albeit one that grows more and more comfortable), the other to Real Life.
