Since getting my new PC a little over a month ago, I'd like to "upgrade" from Vista to 2000 again.

Ye godz. Is it really truly that bad? I feel I should try to find several XP installation disks and keep them in various secure offsite locations so the'll be there for the next decade or so.

Got to play with Naoko's 3 month old laptop on Sunday.. Beautiful specs, in theory a flawless machine, but gods.. Vista...
and the hardware precludes downgrading because of the drm requirements that are set to destroy/homogenize the video card business..

thankfully they extended support for 2k for another few years (2010 I think?)
The only viable products on the market outside of those few out there preloaded with XP are Macbooks, not that their bad things, just really not my cup of tea..

Rumors of windows 7 in development, still very early but hopefully Vista's going the way of ME.. Apparently they tore it all down to the NT 5 kernel and are starting from scratch for 7.. Or so one would hope..
