Request for Music

1. I want something that is not at all folky or hippy-ish and not metalish and not something that a dude wearing a headband of the us flag unironically would listen to.
2. Also, not something celebrating the singer's (should there be one) own ego.
3. Something emotionally moving, not "Hmm, this is a very interesting set of tones and textures. Well done, chap."

Give me the killer tunes in comments.

hmm, i can't seem to know about - much less listen to - anything from the 21st century. for me, the 6ths are contemporary with their dead.on recyclement of 80's syntho-pings (Wasps' Nests or something it's called).

lovesliescrushing- anything, but especially "Xuvetyn". It may be mostly wordless, but the tones and textures are worthy of more praise than just "well done, chap".

Skeleton In My Closet: my college band (lisan al-gaib) opened for Lycia at a now-closed venue in Atlanta called Outta Control.

you're not going to believe this but..

Me and Cerberus Shoal ALSO have history. L.A.G. played one show with them in Chattanooga, and then two weeks later they came back through and played another gig with us, this time we played as Thee Inner TV. They spent the night at my friend's place and we all did salvia together. GOOD TIMES :)

I find Mesh to have moving emotional content. And of course, VNV Nation.

And if you haven't heard Susumu Hirasawa or his band P-model (now going by Kaku P-model, I believe)... you must put the genius gorgeous in your ears.

It's late, I'm tired, I hope you don't mind looking them up. Linking sounds like work. x_x G'nite! =)

* gah, see?! too tired to put on the right icon. x_x

I suppose 'American Pie' or 'Born in the USA' or even 'Detroit Rock City' are out of the question.

this song makes me smile: Pocketful of sunshine

this song is fun and fascinating: Mr Hurricane (this one you have to be patient with)

(be sure to play the song on the little radio, not the video in the Beast song)

Test case:

How do you feel about KLF's Chill Out album, if you're familiar with it? I think it fills all your criteria, but I'm still skittish about what to send you. n.n;

I vote for team sleep, the emotions it stirs on me are more subtle and complex than the usual emotional tones of music, sentimentality, anger, sadness.

In a sense it reminds of the peculiar reality emotions take on in dreams.
